$800,000 Settlement – Construction Injury

In September of 2008, a male carpenter fell from a ladder while installing gutters on a single family home under construction in Wilmette, Illinois. He sustained an L3 burst fracture which necessitated a vertebrectomy at L3 and two fusions (L1-L5 fused). He alleged the work was done despite unsafe ground conditions and without the proper platform. A $480,000 comp lien was also waived.
