New information is reportedly out about the crash that killed an 83-year-old woman at a West Rogers Park bus stop last week.

The family of Concepcion Lopez is returning to Guatemala to bury her, and they have retained attorney Jason Friedl to help them look into the incident. A BMW crashed into a bus stop in the 2100 block of West Peterson.

“Concepcion was a wife, a sister, mother of three, a grandmother,” he said. “And frankly, the entire family is devastated dealing with and living with the knowledge that she lost her life because of a senseless act while simply waiting for a bus in the middle of the day.”Chicago Police have ticketed the 42-year-old male driver of the BMW: one citation for failure to keep in lanes and another for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

According to Streetsblog Chicago, the police incident report said a witness told officers the driver threw “an object over the [wall] of Rosehill Cemetery and it was inventoried.”
