Decatur's South Shores Elementary gets new principal

South Shores Elementary in Decatur has a new principal.
Decatur Public Schools (DPS) Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday night to replace Geneka Gully with Kristi Mullinix.
Gully will now be a “floating” or “substitute principal,” the district said.
The change comes just about a month after the now-former South Shores Elementary School art teacher Jamie Goodman allegedly pushed an 8-year-old child's head down out of frustration, hitting the student's head on the desk and leaving a bruise.
