$30,000,000 Settlement – Medical Malpractice

A family was awarded $30 million in a settlement reached with Mark J. Holterman, MD, and a major Chicago-area teaching hospital after their son was left permanently disabled and brain-injured as a result of 25 experimental surgeries.

This is the fourth largest medical malpractice suit for a minor in the state of Illinois, and is the largest settlement for a child born with esophageal atresia in Illinois.
