Family sues Glendale after officer mistakenly shoots, kills unarmed man
The lawsuit states that the two officers did not take steps to confirm if Siebeck was the actual suspect. “Officers simply assumed — without any reasonable basis — that Dillon was the person they were looking for simply because he was present in the park," a portion of the lawsuit states.
Lawyers for the family claimed Ofc. Gonzales shot Siebeck twice without warning, then fired two more shots. After Siebeck was shot, attorneys said that Sgt. Anderkin did not provide or request medical aid for over 15 minutes.
