Former MPD members file motion to dismiss Tyre Nichols lawsuit

Two of the defendants in the $550 million civil suit filed on behalf of Tyre Nichols’ estate and his mother are trying to get the suit tossed by arguing his mom, RowVaughn Wells, doesn’t have the right to sue.
...In a statement to The Daily Memphian, attorneys for Tyre Nichols’ family replied to the motion to dismiss:
“We strongly believe the civil case will survive this motion. We are confident we will prevail based upon the actions of the officers and policies of the city. We will move ahead with proving accountability for all those involved in this senseless killing of Tyre,” Ben Crump, Antonio Romanucci and the rest of the litigation team said in a statement.
