Wrongly convicted man sues city of Chicago after being behind bars for 29 years
Jerry Herrington’s childhood abruptly ended almost three decades ago outside the Chicago Housing Authority’s Dearborn Homes, and now he's suing the city of Chicago for wrongful imprisonment.
“I was just sitting on a bench, 16 years old, they snatched me up,” Herrington said, recounting the start of what has been a legal nightmare.
