$1.45 Million Settlement for Motorcycle Rider Injured When Struck by Car
Romanucci & Blandin, LLC announces a $1.45 million settlement for injuries suffered by a motorcycle operator in a traffic accident. Plaintiff Robert Paull, who is now 65 years of age, was riding his motorcycle when he was struck by a vehicle driven by the defendant, Adam Katz. The collision took place in May of 2018 in Mundelein, Illinois. Katz was driving irresponsibly during a lane change, causing his vehicle to strike Paull’s motorcycle, throwing the plaintiff to the pavement. Paull suffered injuries including multiple fractures to his foot and injuries to his subscapularis muscle, requiring surgery and other medical treatments. The injures made Paull unable to work at his job and forced his retirement as a traveling automotive equipment installer, which he had planned to continue until he turned 70.
The settlement was reached on August 25, 2021 and was mediated by the Honorable Keith Brown of ADR Systems.
Mr. Paull was represented by Romanucci & Blandin, LLC Attorneys Bruno Marasso, Debra Thomas and David Neiman.
“Merging into lanes without checking to see who or what is there is highly dangerous and irresponsible – and now Mr. Paull’s career is over because of it. While we cannot go back in time to rectify this, this settlement will serve as some measure of justice while he continues in his life,” said Attorney Bruno Marasso of Romanucci & Blandin, LLC.
