Legal Team for Amir Locke statement on MPD's choice of Sgt. Hanneman as training instructor

Statement from legal team representing the family of Amir Locke, including Ben Crump, Antonio M. Romanucci and Jeff Storms:

“The MPD choice to put Sgt. Hanneman in charge of training, is a step in the wrong direction and an utter slap in the face to the family of Amir Locke and anyone who cares about common-sense policing and justice. Amir’s family continues to press for civil justice for this senseless killing, and this new head of training was front and center during Amir’s death. The legal case continues against MPD and Hanneman for the shooting of this high-potential musician and young man. The case is awaiting a decision from the Court of Appeals and details failures in training and excessive use of force.”
