New Lawsuit Filed for Motorcyclist Struck by Car Spotlights Traffic Safety Concerns
Romanucci & Blandin, LLC announces the filing of a civil lawsuit on behalf of a 17-year-old motorcycle rider who was struck by a car and suffered serious injury, disfigurement and other hardship. The accident took place on August 8, 2020 near 4112 W. Addison Street in Chicago. The complaint, filed in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division, states that plaintiff Kamil Klimek was struck and injured because defendant Michael Chow failed to yield, exercise due care or take evasive action to avoid striking Klimek. At issue in this lawsuit is the clear and urgent need for automobile drivers to be aware of motorcycles and share the roadways safely.
“Motorcycle operators like the plaintiff in this case cannot ensure their safety alone. It is imperative that everyone operating a car or truck also be acutely aware of motorcycles and follow the rules of the road. The price to pay can be disastrous, causing an innocent person painful injuries, medical bills and the disruption of their life – if they are fortunate enough to live,” said Attorney Michael Grieco of Romanucci & Blandin, LLC.
The complaint seeks damages of $50,000 plus costs for relief as the court sees appropriate.
