Romanucci & Blandin, on behalf of Renee Good’s family, delivers evidence preservation letter to federal government

January 15, 2026

Legal team will continue to provide updates to the public as the investigation evolves

MINNEAPOLIS (January 15, 2026) – The national civil rights law firm of Romanucci & Blandin, which represents the family of Renee Good, is making good on its commitment to transparency in its investigation into her shooting death by federal agents. The first of these disclosures for Good transparency and Good accountability is sharing the Preservation of Evidence Letter our legal team has delivered to the Federal Government, so that the American public can see what information is being sought and from whom.

There are several purposes of this preservation demand. The first is to put the federal government on notice of Romanucci & Blandin’s representation of Renee Good, to alert them of our ongoing civil litigation and to ensure no evidence is destroyed. The demand encompasses any evidence related to this matter in any form, including physical evidence like Renee’s vehicle and electronically stored information, including videos and communications between agents. We hope the federal government will comply with their legal obligations. But if they do not, the government’s failure to preserve evidence could lead to potential sanctions for non-compliance with their legal and ethical obligations.

Separately, our legal team is actively addressing persistent false reports circulating online that mischaracterize Renee Good’s background. Contrary to claims published on various platforms, there is no record of Renee Good having a criminal or felony history. Neither she nor Becca Good has a criminal record, and have only been cited for traffic infractions years ago. Assertions suggesting she had an extensive criminal history, including fabricated mugshots and similar content, are unequivocally false. Renee and Becca Good were responsible community members who lived peacefully and did not engage in harmful conduct toward others, including the federal agents involved on January 7, 2026. We are monitoring these defamatory reports closely. We urge all journalists and outlets to rigorously verify their sources. Any publication or repetition of demonstrably false, defamatory material about Ms. Good or Ms. Good’s character will be treated as libelous, and we intend to pursue all available legal remedies against media organizations and individuals responsible for disseminating such misinformation.

Finally, in continuing our commitment to uphold Renee’s vision of a peaceful world, her family and our legal team denounce violence of every kind. We hope that we as a country can collectively insist and agree that all agents must be prudent in their use of force and conduct themselves in a reasonable, professional and proportional manner in every situation with the public. It’s called Constitutional policing.

The family of Renee Good is represented by Founding Partner Antonio M. Romanucci and a team of attorneys from the law firm of Romanucci & Blandin, LLC, along with Co-Counsel Attorney Kevin Riach from The Law Office of Kevin C. Riach in Minneapolis. The team represents Renee’s partner, Becca Good, her parents, Tim and Donna Ganger, and her siblings.
