Background

Dana is Senior Paralegal, Team Lead for the firm’s renowned Civil Rights & Police Misconduct team, in addition to Sexual Abuse & Hazing cases. She is the paralegal for Founding Partner Antonio M. Romanucci, Managing Partner Gina A. DeBoni and Senior Attorney Maura D. White. In her role as Team Lead and Civil Rights Trial Paralegal, Dana provides guidance and direction to paralegals, facilitating communication and collaboration among attorneys on her cases and with the Managing Partner and Managing Attorney, as well as mentoring and coaching her team members.

A lifelong Chicagoan, Dana joined Romanucci & Blandin in 2023 as a Senior Paralegal. Dana is a contributor to several significant Civil Rights cases, such as the police misconduct wrongful death of Tyre Nichols in Memphis, Tennessee, and Prisoners’ Rights cases, including lawsuits related to St. Tammany Parish Jail in Louisiana and against the Illinois Department of Corrections on behalf of Anthony Gay in Illinois. Dana was part of the team that settled a wrongful death case with Boeing for the Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 mass casualty crash. She also works on the Highland Park Fourth of July Parade and Robb Elementary School mass shootings, as well as multi-plaintiff Feather River school sexual abuse cases and the Lord’s Ranch youth center sexual abuse mass torts.

Before R&B, Dana was a paralegal for over eight years at another Chicago personal injury and civil rights firm, where she gained experience in Section 1983 complaints, appellate courts, Monell claims and class actions. Dana also worked on one of the largest Intellectual Property cases in U.S. history at a previous firm.

She obtained a B.A. in Legal Studies from Roosevelt University in 2020, along with a Certification in Paralegal Studies, and an A.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix in 2015. She is a member of the Notary Public Association of Illinois, the Chicago Paralegal Association, the Illinois Paralegal Association and NALA - The Paralegal Association.

Dana enjoys spending time with her children in her free time, and is passionate about effecting change through social justice activism. She also enjoys running, sports, outdoor activities and animal rights advocacy.
