Kudos to the Chicago Sun-Times for launching a front-page series, written by Rick Telander, on a newly identified brain disorder called chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, that affects football players who suffer multiple concussions. CTE is produced only by blows to the brain, and at least for now, it can only be discovered in a dead person’s brain.
