Romanucci & Blandin, LLC, is outraged that an estimated 98,000 people die each year from preventable medical errors and that over 180,000 people are injured every year by preventable medical errors.

The best way to reduce medical malpractice claims, says Antonio M. Romanucci, is to reduce the incidents of malpractice. “More people die from preventable medical errors than from diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease,” he said. “And the number of preventable medical errors is very close to the number of accidents that lead to death.”

A traumatic brain injury (TBI) cannot be cured, so it is all the more important for people to prevent such injuries by using common sense.

For example:

  • Always wear a seat belt in a motor vehicle
  • Use an appropriate child safety seat or a booster
  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Always wear a helmet when on a bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, snowmobile and other open, unrestrained vehicles
  • Wear a helmet when participating in contact sports, horseback riding, skiing, snowboarding, skating and skateboarding.
